Data Visualization

In research, data visualization is a critical skill that serves many purposes. By creating visual representations of data, you can organize your thinking, get a better sense of trends, and predict results. Data visualization can be used to share your data with the world through presentation or publication. The way that you choose to display your data can significantly influence the story that you are trying to tell.

This resource teaches best practices for creating and consuming data visualizations. The video clips in this resource are presented by Jess Cohen-Tanugi, Visualization Specialist, Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Lamont Library. The videos were originally part of Harvard Catalyst’s Boundary Crossing Skills for Research Careers series.

This resource presents three sections of content:

Introduction to Data Visualization
